Our Mission

Founded in January of 2024, the Yale Student Association for Small Claims Assistance (Y-SASCA) was established to lessen the information asymmetries found within the Connecticut small claims court system. Our goal is to provide clients with the legal knowledge necessary to feel well-informed and confident when navigating a small claims case. We hope to assist clients in effectively obtaining legal remedies while safeguarding their rights as consumers, tenants, and valued community members.

Our Team

Y-SASCA is composed of 62 members. Each volunteer spends one semester studying Connecticut small claims law and procedure. After successful completion of this training course and a mock client consultation, students become official Y-SASCA members and are thereafter able to share the legal information that they learned with clients.
